Summer is here

Summer is back in Chennai - As if it was ever gone in the first place!!!

And everyone's cribbing about the heat and refusing to step out of the house.

Sitting in the comfort of my room I think about all the things that I look forward to during summer....

MANGOES, MANGOES AND MORE MANGOES!!!
Is there anything other reason required.....
( You're looking at a person who refused to goto the U.S. for two months 'cuz its mango season)

Well if you do....

School's over and kids are back home, running around the street ...

Gaze up at the trees and look at sara-konnai ( a type of yellow flower ) hanging like a bunch of grapes ...

Who can forget the road side vendors selling 'elaneer' ( tender coconut ) at every street corner...

Everytime even a drop of water falls on the ground, the smell it gives out ( of new rain... though rain is nowhere in sight! )

And the ten million people that gather to Marina and Elliots Beach every evening, whether its to get a breath of fresh air or to look at the other people who come there... :)


With people fleeing the city to escape the heat, there are a few that refuse to budge ... Just to get a taste of the Chennai summer...
